Clare & Joost van den Berg
Husband & wife duo, Joost & Clare van den Berg have opened a series of dining rooms in the city. They started with the celebrated & much loved local Zus & Zo in Herne Bay followed by Zomer in Takapuna, before opening charming Odettes Eatery in City Works Depot. Lastly, European Hugo’s Bistro positioned at the top of well-known Shortland Street. Former owners of all establishments, the couple started Daphnes, March 2021
Inspired by their travels to Greece & Europe in 2018, their idea was harvested. Daphnes welcomes you with full Mediterranean spirit. The warm interior was designed by Clare with dim lighting, texture in the fabrics, dark rich tones of wooden furniture, alongside rich burgundy & navy upholstery
